Our partnership event with NYC Service, TimeBanksNYC and MIllion Trees NYC on Saturday, May 18, 2013 was a huge success! Thank you to every volunteer who came out!

Finally, thanks to our collaborating service organization, TimeBanksNYC for their awesome thank you letter!

Dear Rev. Story and you amazing team members of TimeBanksNYC and MillionTreesNYC,

My sincerest thanks to all of you involved with making Saturday’s Tree Care Day in East New York a great success.

It was fabulous to see SPCBC’s ministry members and committed volunteers come out in full force to enhance and beautify the community after hearing Reverend Story pitch the event. It is committed, civically-minded individuals like them that truly make a difference in the world we live in. They were certainly the Essential Piece of this effort. Their collective dedication made it possible for us to achieve something wonderful. We couldn’t have had this impact without your leadership and passion, Reverend Story. My heartfelt thanks to you for embracing this idea and making it happen.

I also want to give big kudos to MillionTreesNYC for providing the materials, instruction and inspiration for tree stewardship in East New York. All of us gained a great deal of knowledge about trees and their importance, and the flowers were a lovely addition to the day’s activity and the neighborhood overall. Roy, Katina, and Lucy – you’re a pleasure to work with and we appreciate all that you’ve put into this and other events to improve NYC neighborhoods in so many ways. You’re awesome.

And lastly, to my own team, congratulations to Kenny and Andi for thinking up this lovely partnership exchange and seeing it through to fruition (with all the nitty gritty details that go into an event of this size). It was so meaningful to have Cacsmy and Claudette working side by side with you the day of the event, and to bring different opportunities to East New York. You did a fantastic job and demonstrated great camaraderie.  You should feel great about your accomplishment.

Teamwork and collaboration between all three groups played a major role in this effort and the implementation of this exciting large-scale service exchange. You should all be extraordinarily proud of yourselves and the work of the Church members. I hope we can work together again in the future!

By the way, all of the pictures (more than 100!) have been uploaded to TimeBanksNYC’s Flickr account for easy access by everyone. You can get to them by using this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/timebanksnyc/.

All my best,

Ali
